Frank CHIRCOP was born on the Reunion Island, a French island lost in the Indian Ocean south west of Mauritius island.
Near Africa and Madagascar this island is so far the best blend of a multicultural full of colors and rhythms.
On this beautiful tropical spot, Frank caught quickly at his early age the virus of percussion surrounded by the vibes and this dancing sound, and started to play with his hands on everything he could.
Back to the south of France in the 80's Frank started to play drums and was basically a self-taught player. He began to play with a rock cover and original band called
"Black Roses". They started to build a tremendous fan base at the time. After a few years some members left, and the rest of the band decided to play under a new name "Blue Jean" with new fresh and talented musicians.
By reputation he was recruited by "XXL" a talented well-known rock, pop-rock cover and original band as well. Often the medias were there to cover theirs events.
The passion and the love for music has pushed Frank to go further into the drums study. He decided to focus to get the educational and theory side, which was very important for him to complement the self-taught once and to put all together for the best of it.
Also in 1999 he decided to go on, to study seriously at the Artist’ Music school of Cavaillon, in the south of France. Frank met a lot of great people and passionate musicians over there like him. His drums instructor was the well-known Serge MENDEZ
who brought him a solid foundation and actually who was and still is in collaboration with Jean-Pierre DALMASSY.
To improve his skills and his musical knowledge Frank got some basics as well with some guitar, bass guitar, piano, vocal, harmonics and recording.
Ever ambitious and always looking for more, Frank moved to Los Angeles California in 2000, to enroll at the prestigious Musicians Institute of Hollywood, to further his education and to check out the L.A scene as well.
Over there he met a lot of great musicians and had the best drums instructors and now friends who work within the music industry like: Ray LUZIER (David LEE ROTH, Army of Anyone and member of KORN), David SALINAS (Melissa ETHERIDGE, Chuck BERRY, Cock ROBIN), Matt LAUG (Alanis MORISSETTE, SLASH), but also Tim McINTYRE, Fred DINKINS, Gary HESS, Owen GOLDMAN, Tim PEDERSEN, Chuck FLORES(for jazz), Shane GAALAAS, Ed ROCSETTI and the great vocal instructor Coreen SHEEHAN (five-time nominee and three-time winner of "L.A's best rock vocalist Awards), and prepare vocalists to perform with Rod Stewart.
Based in Hollywood Frank joined the Californian band called "LURE", an alternative rock band for recording and touring.
They played the L.A scene, selling out the clubs on Sunset strip and all over Los Angeles.
Frank’s talent and his seriousness were quickly recognized and people around hire him, for recording sessions gigs and touring.
Frank's style combines power and finesse. He's innovative and sticks a solid back beat to everything he plays. Frank brings a terrific drive, a lot of enthusiasm and creativity. Also he can sing backing vocal as well if it's needed.
After Los Angeles Frank came back to the south of France to play for different bands and started to teach drums in several music schools and private lessons too. He started to collaborate with Patrick RECOUS, drummer at the time for the famous french
singer LIO and friend with Yves SANNA, drummer for Johnny Hallyday and Myléne Farmer.
Frank had a great jam with the french artist, musician and singer Charlélie COUTURE and his band in Paris. Also he worked with Gabriel BRUNI guitar session player for well known artists in the industry.
From March 2003 Frank travels regularly between France (Marseille and Paris) and Ireland (Dublin) which is located in the northwest of Europe.
Based in Dublin the capital, he joined an amazing Irish Pop-rock band called BAILER. The band has built a very high potential with the versatility to play electric and acoustic sets.
2005 has been a very good year for the band who got more and more exposure with radios, medias and playing bigger concerts.
All those years the band played a lot of gigs with The Hothouse Flowers, and one of the most famous band in Ireland called ASLAN.
BAILER enjoyed to play all kind of venues, from the smallest pubs to clubs with a warm atmosphere, and also the big venues like:
The Music Factory, Vicar Street, The Point Depot the new O2 in Dublin, like they did the 27th December 2005 in front 8000 people. After six years of collaboration, one EP, two singles and the Album "Running" recorded in 2008, Frank left the band in March 2009 to work on his own solo project as songwriter and producer.
Frank worked and recorded with Bobby BOUGHTON(Ireland:Lisa STANFIELD, The CORRS, Moya BRENNAN(Clannad), with Martin QUINN(Ireland), Shane POWER(Ireland), Mehdi Hassine(USA), Beau HILL(USA: sound engineer and producer for Alice COOPER, EUROPE and Eric CLAPTON), Jean COSTA (France:Johnny HALLYDAY, The Cure)...
